It’s Stevie’s birthday and Billy decides to throw a surprise party in The Vic for his dad – the only downside being that he’s left with a painful reminder of his mam Val, who shared the same birthday.

At the café, Phil overhears Teddy and Stevie chatting about keeping something from Billy, and employs trusty lawyer Ritchie Scott to do some digging. As the celebrations get underway, Billy gives a heartfelt speech about his dad, and wishing his mum well… wherever she is.

Presenting his evidence from Ritchie to Stevie, Phil encourages him to head back to No. 18 with Teddy and Billy, where he confesses that Val is dead.

Elsewhere, Denzel is dreading heading into school and clashes with Avani and Amy. Back at home, he lies to dad Howie about heading in and instead goes to The Boxing Den.

Suddenly, he starts to experience internal pains…

Howie finds out about Denzel’s lies from Amy, and a row soon breaks out between the teens over his treatment of her.

The tragic story of Val’s death is shared with Billy and Teddy, who are taken aback. Billy is broken by the news, but Teddy implores him not to let the revelation break their new-found relationship.

Later, Will slips up and admits that Phil framed Stevie, and a classic Mitchell row kicks off!

Howie tries to find a way to break through with Denzel, and Yolande offers to step in and offer some advice. After hearing from Levi that Pastor Clayton has been charged by the CPS, she opens up to Denzel and asks him to accept the help he needs.

Elsewhere, Ian is anxiously checking his phone and bites back when Anna tries to chat about Bobby’s 21st birthday. Anna instead turns to Freddie for ideas, but Bobby soon rumbles their plans and asks them not to make a fuss.

Over at No. 25, Sonia is nervous for her embryo transfer, but Reiss is under even more pressure when he hears Debbie’s care fees are three months overdue.

Yikes!

Stevie plans to leave Walford and asks Billy and Teddy to hear him out, and if he can say goodbye to his grandchildren, before he goes.

After a confrontation, he asks Mo for a favour and later, Phil discovers his car is missing…

Is Stevie behind the theft?

With an 18k bill behind him for Debbie’s care, Reiss is more desperate than ever to generate some quick cash and decides to rent out the spare room. Sonia catches him showing prospective lodgers around and shuts down the idea after he opens up about his money woes.

Luckily, Sharon throws him a lifeline chasing her outstanding invoices.

Bobby continues to shut down any mention of his birthday, and Peter becomes suspicious of his dad when he lies about where he’ll be the day after the event. Cindy and Peter try to discover the root of his deceit and he tells them he’s running for council again.

Elsewhere, Howie takes Denzel to the doctors practice to talk about steroid withdrawal, and Kat is sad for Tommy when he admits Phil doesn’t seem interested in spending time with him anymore.

Phil drives a wedge between him and the other Mitchells, and is put out to learn that Billy and Teddy have arranged a family dinner at Walford East without him.

Jay asks him to tag along, and Teddy tries his best to smooth things over. However, things soon take a sharp turn for the worse when Phil slates Stevie and Harry eggs him on by mentioning the missing car.

Harry finds himself in more hot water when he knocks a drink over Sharon, but Teddy uses it to his advantage and asks her for another drink. She politely declines, but he’s eager not to take no for an answer and arrives on her doorstep with a bottle of wine and a new blouse.

Elsewhere, Reiss gets creative with Sharon’s work to line his pockets with some extra cash, but feels awful when she gives him some extra pay for doing the job at short notice. Later, he lies to Sonia, telling her he has enough to provide for Debbie.

Peter remains suspicious when Ian heads off to his council meeting and Cindy is angry when he says he’s attending a leadership course in Manchester, and she can’t join him.

Later, Peter reveals that he’s checked with the council and knows that he’s lying – what is he hiding?

There’s further woes for Kat when Tommy is caught on CCTV shoplifting from the Minute Mart, and Jean suggests a job might be just the ticket to keep him out of trouble.
