EastEnders Christmas spoilers: Staggered Phil reeling by Sharon’s massive confession

It’s a huge secret

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) wedding day in EastEnders has been doomed for disaster ever since the couple announced their engagement.

Sharon and Keanu’s relationship is often tested by two soap staples – secrets and lies. Right now, Keanu still hasn’t told Sharon that he was also involved in Albie’s kidnapping, with the iconic character under the impression it was just orchestrated by Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley).

For Sharon, the secret she is keeping will absolutely change Keanu’s life forever – if he was to ever find out.

A few weeks ago, some hospital tests for Albie saw Sharon discover that Phil (Steve McFadden) is actually his biological father – not Keanu.

This revelation is at the forefront of Sharon’s mind on Christmas Day, as she spends the morning trying to mask her guilt as she gets ready for her and Keanu’s wedding.

At the church, as the Walford residents watch, Sharon walks down the aisle with little Albie next to her.

However, just as Sharon and Keanu are about to say ‘I do’, Phil bursts in and drops the bombshell that Keanu was also behind Albie’s kidnap.

Sharon and the congregation are obviously left reeling at the development but focus then turns to Phil and Keanu, who are completely taken aback when Sharon reveals some news herself.

But what is it?

Could this be about Phil being Albie’s dad?

In the aftermath, Sharon and Linda (Kellie Bright) make a quick exit from the church alongside Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Denise (Diane Parish), who are both keen to distance themselves from Rocky (Brian Conley) and Jack (Scott Maslen).

In the Vic, Denise, Kathy, Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon, Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) seek solace as they all try to process the events of the day.

But soon enough, their lives are changed forever as one Walford male meets his fate that evening…
