Dramatic Emmerdale exit for Belle Dingle as she flees after đť••eadly Tom King accident
Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) finally admits to herself that she’s in a toxic situation with husband Tom King (James Chase) in Emmerdale and makes plans to flee the village in upcoming episodes.
The move comes after Belle was forced to take drastic action to secretly terminate her pregnancy without Tom knowing. Tom was delighted to hear that Belle was pregnant, after making it very clear that he can’t wait to be a father.
For Belle, however, it was the wrong time and she knew she couldn’t go ahead with the pregnancy while she was living in fear of what Tom might do next.
After Tom had sold her car in yet another move designed to make her less independent and more reliant on him, Belle took a huge risk and took Tom’s car to drive herself to the clinic.
Belle makes a decision
Belle knows that her husband has been tracking her movement on an app, so to cover her tracks she put her phone in Amelia (Daisy Campbell)’s baby’s pram and asked Amelia to walk Piper the dog around the village for a while. Every time Tom checked his phone it seemed that Belle was on her usual walk with the dog.
Following this, Belle has a meeting with Rachel, her mental health coordinator. Rachel is concerned to hear that Belle told Tom she had a miscarriage rather than an abortion and gently questions her.
Belle realises that Rachel is getting close to the truth about her marriage and tries to end the meeting, but as Rachel reassures her, Belle finally realises just how bad things are between her and Tom – and that his behaviour is controlling and abnormal.
Rachel encourages her that what she needs is a beak from Tom, and even though belle is terrified, she agrees. She makes plans to go to Scotland to stay with her dad and Debbie (Charley Webb).
She packs a case and books a taxi and is ready to leave Emmerdale and the toxic, abusive relationship with Tom.
He, meanwhile, has discovered that she lied about the abortion and he’s raging. He grabs an iron bar and goes on a rampage, smashing up everything in his way. As his energy runs out and his anger burns itself out he takes one final swing with the metal bar, which makes contact with an electrical circuit.
The ensuing electric shock flings him off his feet and smashes him into a beam.
Is Tom dead? How will Belle react when she finds out about the accident?
