Denise Fox spirals out of control with the guilt of Keanu Taylor’s mur𝕕er in EastEnders
Amy takes action for her stepmother but will it help?
SOAP watchers were horrified to see Denise Fox hallucinating Keanu Taylor as she struggles to cope with her guilty conscience.
Next week in EastEnders, her mental health goes from bad to worse and an overwhelmed Amy Mitchell tries her best to help.
Denise Fox’s mental health has been on a slippery slope for several weeks as witnessed by BBC One viewers who were horror-struck to see her hallucinate Keanu Taylor.
In recent scenes of the long-running program, the hairstylist portrayed by Diane Parish turned to her former husband, serial killer Lucas Johnson for advice, but no words have been able to appease her.
To make matters worse, Denise’s marriage to Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is hanging by a fragile thread as his feelings for Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) have taken over.
But in scenes airing next week, and as Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) is heartbroken to see Denise struggling.
Unfortunately, her help may not be enough as Denise is haunted by the memory of Keanu Taylor’s murder and the cover-up that followed which she took part in.
Coming up, the teen worries that Jack and Denise are going to get divorced.
To prevent their separation, Amy tries to get her father to make a nice Valentine’s gesture by choosing a bracelet for him to give her.
Later, she and her half-brother Ricky Branning (Frankie Day) are rattled when Denise reacts strangely to the bracelet they were trying to hide from her.
But they’re completely unaware that Denise is actually hallucinating and seeing her missing “D” necklace instead.
Viewers will remember that Denise began to spiral out of control when her necklace fell on Keanu’s corpse and was left to be buried with the heartthrob.
This means that if Keanu’s body was found, she’d be the first to be suspected of killing him.
In other scenes, a concerned Ricky wants to tell Jack about Denise’s behaviour, but Amy begs him to stay quiet or risk them splitting up for good.
Jack then surprises Denise with a nice breakfast but rejects her suggestion of a Valentine’s night together as he secretly wants to be with Stacey.
Amy is worried about Denise’s behaviour and goes with her to work, where she continues to act out of character.
Again, Ricky says they should tell Jack, but Amy says no.
Instead, she asks Stacey for advice about having bipolar, feigning it’s for a school project.
Will Stacey figure out what is really going on with Denise?
Could the rest of the Five try to get rid of her in order to keep their secret safe?
Denise was present in The Vic on Christmas Day when Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) tried to stop his wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) from leaving him for her lover Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).
When Nish became violent, Denise struck him over the head with a heavy bottle and he was left to die at the front of the bar.
Unfortunately, the attack was rumbled by Keanu who had walked in for his own showdown with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), whom he was ready to marry mere hours before.
The confrontation escalated behind the bar, while Suki revived Nish, and Keanu tried to strangle Sharon to death after finding out that Albie was never really his biological son.
Terrified for her best pal, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) came up with a fast solution which, sadly, also triggered a series of harsh consequences.
In a shocking twist, Linda became a murderer as she stabbed Keanu with Sharon, Stacey, Denise and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) witnessing everything.
The five women, along with Suki, then buried Keanu underneath Kathy’s cafĂ© and, as mentioned above, Denise’s necklace was left with the corpse.
Sharon since escaped from Walford with her son Albie, terrified her secret would be rumbled and devastated by the death of her former fiancé.
Meanwhile, Denise isn’t the only member of the group to struggle with a guilty conscience as Linda has turned to alcohol once again in a bid to cope with her trauma.
Keanu’s body has yet to be found but it’s a matter of time before the Six’s dirty secret comes to light.
Could it start with Denise?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
