Billy Mitchell destroyed as he’s forced to break the news of a major 𝕕eath in EastEnders
Billy had some tough news to break
Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) was left destroyed in recent EastEnders scenes when he was forced to break the news of a devastating death.
Billy and the rest of the Mitchells got quite the shock when Stevie (Alan Ford) arrived unannounced and revealed that he had watched Billy and Honey’s (Emma Barton) proposal on TV.
The Mitchells made it clear that he wasn’t welcome, though Stevie refused to take no for an answer.
After some encouragement from Honey, Billy finally relented and agreed to talk to his dad back at home.
Billy had some tough news to break
Billy insisted that he didn’t want a sob story, just answers, but Stevie explained that he was there to apologise.
Billy was quick to point out how awful his childhood had been after Stevie had abandoned him, and how he had always favoured his brother Charlie.
Stevie apologised, but it wasn’t enough for Billy, who was upset by the trip down memory lane.
Before Billy had the chance to throw him out, Stevie asked if he could put him in touch with grandson Jamie Mitchell, which left Billy reeling.
Viewers will know that Jamie tragically died after being run over by Martin Fowler (James Bye) in 2002, though it appeared that Stevie was totally oblivious.
Billy couldn’t believe what he was hearing, and he was soon forced to break the news that Jamie had been dead for over 20 years.
As Stevie assured him that he surely did all he could to care for him after Charlie’s death, Billy lamented over how he had treated Jamie, blaming Stevie for the way he had been treated.
He revealed that he thinks of Jamie everyday, and tries to make amends for his mistakes, but expressed his anger that Stevie could just rock up like nothing had happened between them.
Billy demanded that Stevie leave, though he soon ran into Honey in the Square who warned him that he would need to try harder to win Billy over.
Stevie insisted that he wouldn’t give up without a fight, but will he be able to worm his way back into the family?
