BBC EastEnders’ Nish Panesar’s memory loss lie ‘rumbled’ as viewers ‘work out’ real plan

EastEnders villain Nish Panesar woke up in hospital after the recent Christmas Day attack that almost killed him, but not all viewers were convinced by the story he spun with Suki
EastEnders’ Nish Panesar could be hiding how much he really remembers from Christmas Day, after a recent attack.
The character has been in a coma for weeks ever since he was hit over the head with a glass bottle, by Denise Fox. On Christmas Day, Nish’s actions including his plot to kill wife Suki’s lover Eve Unwin finally came to light, resulting in a deadly showdown.
Suki had vowed to leave Nish after he attacked her, before he turned on his own family. With the help of Kathy Beale, Stacey Slater, Sharon Watts, Denise and Linda Carter, Suki vowed to end her marriage for once and for all.
Fans know that Nish headed to the pub to confront Suki, and when she asked for a divorce and things didn’t go his way he turned violent. As he dragged her towards the doors no doubt ready to take his revenge, The Six battled to stop him hurting Suki and Denise attacked him.
He was declared dead only for Suki to revive him, and since then Nish has been in a coma. Of course while he was unconscious, he missed the fact Keanu Taylor entered the pub and tried to flee with Sharon’s son Albie, before turning violent against her.
Linda stabbed Keanu and killed him, leaving them all reeling. After hiding the body in the burnt out café, they created the story that Nish was attacked by Keanu who then went on the run.
As Nish woke up in the latest episode of the BBC soap, Suki quickly asked what he remembered from Christmas Day as The Six panicked that their claims would fall apart. Despite claiming to remember everything he soon told Suki that the last thing he recalled was entering The Vic.
He said he remembered going there to meet her and all of the women being there, but after that he doesn’t remember anything at all. Nish confessed he’d wanted her dead and probably would have killed her, but he claimed not to know what happened next – soon learning from Suki about Keanu apparently attacking him.
Nish seemed to buy the story while he was suspicious of Suki, even asking her if she attacked him and tried to kill him. But could Nish be lying about what he really remembers from Christmas?
While it’s unlikely he would have known about Keanu, Nish did start breathing again as the chaos was unfolding. Might Nish have heard The Six plotting to hide Keanu’s body, or might he simply know that one of the women and not Keanu caused his blow to the head?
Viewers believe he could be lying about what he knows, with one writing on X: “nish is definitely faking that he doesn’t remember. don’t believe that man AT all.” Another agreed: “Nish is lying,” as a third wrote: “Watching tonight’s Eastenders and nish defo is lying he 100 % knows what really happened.”
