A few weeks ago, shortly after David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) left the Emmerdale village, fans were left wondering what had happened to his young son Theo.
David departed the Dales after discovering Vic (Isabel Hodgins) and Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) were in a relationship.
Prior to learning this news, David had spent weeks convincing himself he’d soon reunite with Victoria, unaware she was developing feelings for his son.
Unable to deal with the massive betrayal, David decided to move to London so he could spend time with his daughter Amba and Priya (Fiona Wade), her mum.
David left after a difficult end
During the emotional scenes that saw members of David’s family wave him off, fans were left baffled when Theo failed to appear, let alone be mentioned.
However, in Tuesday’s (December 12) episode of the ITV soap, a line of dialogue saw the show confirm that Theo did leave with David after all.
Speaking on Twitter/X, one Emmerdale fan wrote: ‘Theo mention, he did go with David!’.
Also picking up on the development, this fan joked: ‘So the invisible Theo did go with David’, while another echoed those thoughts and said: ‘They have suddenly remembered Theo!’
Before David’s exit, he discovered his dad Eric (Chris Chittell) has Parkinson’s disease.
Most recently, the beloved character has tried to accept support from the likes of Jacob, Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) and Manpreet.
Manpreet, who works at the local surgery, managed to make a deal with Eric, who agreed to ask her any concerning questions he might have whenever they spend time together.
It’s been quite the year for character exits in Emmerdale. We’ve said goodbye to the likes of Rishi (Bhasker Patel), Dan (Liam Fox) and Naomi (Karene Peter), as well as Bernice (Samantha Giles), Priya and Victor (Eddie Osei).
