allum Highway misses last chance to see Ben Mitchell in heartbreaking final EastEnders exit

Callum missed the opportunity to say goodbye to Ben

Callum Highway (Tony Clay) has missed out on his last chance to say goodbye to Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) in heartbreaking EastEnders scenes, following Ben’s dramatic arrest.

Earlier this week, Callum’s impromptu birthday party was interrupted by police, who had arrived to arrest Ben for committing fraud in America.

Though Ben insisted that he was innocent, it later transpired that he had in fact stolen someone’s credit card and made a number of purchases while in America, trying to get treatment for Lola Pearce’s brain tumour.

After finding out that Ben had lied to him, Callum was furious, and refused to visit him at the station, claiming that the two of them were done.

When Lexi Pearce and Jay Brown (Isabella Brown and Jamie Borthwick) arrived without Callum, Ben was clearly disappointed, but made the most of his time with his daughter.

Unfortunately, Lexi wasn’t in the best of moods either, and made it clear that she felt disappointed by Ben’s actions, leaving Ben gutted.

Later, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) found Callum sitting in the Square alone, and decided to try and help him repair his relationship.

Phil was quick to point out that Callum had always been there for Ben, and that he wouldn’t be the man he is today without his support, though Callum was quick to retort that marriage wasn’t supposed to be this difficult.

Not willing to give up on him, Phil revealed how scared Ben was, before explaining that the only person he wanted by his side was Callum, and he should go to the bail hearing to be there for him.

Finally, Callum was won over, and rushed to court with Jay by his side.

Unfortunately, he was immediately hit with bad news from solicitor Ritchie, who explained that Ben had been deemed a flight risk and denied bail, and because he had already been taken to the cells it was too late to see him.

Callum was left totally devastated at missing out on his final opportunity to see Ben, however, in upcoming scenes he is set to use his career to his advantage as the rest of the Mitchells reel in the aftermath of Ben’s arrest.

Could Callum be set to find a way of saying a final emotional farewell to Ben ahead of his exit?
