Emmerdale’s Moira gains very unexpected ally as she sets out to destroy Samson
Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) dogged determinism hasn’t helped Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) win the battle yet, but she might be getting a step closer in Emmerdale.
The fight isn’t over yet
She’s been on a foolish mission to get Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) to confess that Matty did not in fact stab him, and that his friend Josh (Osian Morgan) is the bad guy here, which would then save Matty from the clutches of violent thug Robbo. But everything she does just makes everything worse.
Threatening Samson in the toilets only served to turn the family against her and now even her marriage hangs by a thread.
But with the right help, maybe she can finally get it right.
Moira gets wind of Samson’s plans to escape to Europe much earlier than originally expected, and, knowing this means he’s likely going to do a bunk, her next goal is to stop them.
She foolishly bursts into the Dingles expecting her anger to be enough to put the brakes on the road trip, but of course Sam Dingle (James Hooton) is right there ready to defend Samson with his life and he once again protests his innocence.
Once Moira leaves, Samson works to get Sam to agree to let him leave early, so long as he’s back in time for the trial.
For Moira, nothing is more important than preventing Samson from getting behind that wheel, and she’s about to get a surprising ally.
It becomes clear that Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) seems to be less than 100% convinced of Samson’s innocence. In fact, she might be starting to smell Samson’s lies.
Confirming her fears, although not that she knows it, Josh threatens Samson – he’d better keep lying to the police, or else.
Unaware of this, but having her own doubts Lydia meets with Moira, who begs her to consider Matty’s terrible fate.
Given what Lydia went through with Samson and Craig, and the fact she’s already starting to suspect something, will she see sense and the truth?
