Emmerdale favourite sacked after flirting with soap villain
Kerry’s plan very nearly worked
Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) has lost her job at the Woolpack in Emmerdale after forcing Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to choose between her and Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).
Samson is public enemy number one for a lot of the villagers right now, due to his involvement in Matty Barton’s (Ash Palmisciano) imprisonment.
After Matty accidentally stabbed Samson at The Hide, he was sent behind bars. When Samson’s horrible friend Josh cornered him, he said he needed to keep quiet and spin a false story that made it look as though Matty stabbed him in an unprovoked attack.
In prison, Matty is utterly terrified. Because he is transgender, Matty knows he will be in danger if his fellow inmates discover his identity.
Kerry’s plan very nearly worked
He has hardly left his cell and in Friday’s (June 21) episode, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) told Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) he barely managed a minute on the phone because he worried people were listening in on his conversation.
Meanwhile, in the café, Kerry was overhearing a conversation between Samson and Josh.
Learning they were heading to the pub that afternoon, Kerry developed a plan.
Working the shift alone, Kerry approached Josh, sorted him out with a pint and started flirting.
As she chatted about Matty and tried to get Josh on her side, Kerry set up her phone and started recording their conversation.
Things were going very well but just as Josh was moments away from revealing what really happened at The Hide, Charity and Samson walked in.
Samson quickly revealed Kerry’s connection to Matty and Amy, and Charity was shocked her employee had stooped this low.
For the record, we’re not.
As Kerry grew frustrated that Charity was siding with Samson, she ended up telling her boss to choose between them.
And obviously, Charity was always going to choose a Dingle.
Outside, Moira joined Kerry and Amy and as they cracked open some beers, they felt somewhat lost.
If Samson doesn’t tell the truth, will Matty ever get released?
