The mindblowing truth of Coronation Street’s cult leader ‘confirmed’ as fans spot big clue

There’s definitely something suspicious about Rowan!

Following Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) promotion to Level 5 of The Altovalent Institute in Coronation Street, some fans have questioned the authenticity of almighty leader Willow (Marianne Benedict)…

In last night’s (12th June) episode, seminar host Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) continued to plague Leanne’s life, manipulating her every decision and tormenting her sister Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor).

He even went as far to get his cronies to dial in a hoax phone call to Toyah, suggesting that Leanne had been injured in a motorbike accident. This was, of course, to prevent her from attending the court case that was launched against her in response to social media posts she’d made about the cult.

Leanne was actually whisked off to a restaurant where Rowan delivered the surprising news that she had been promoted, and therefore would be able to recruit her own followers.

He then opened a laptop and revealed The Institute’s CEO, Willow, was on Zoom and wanted to congratulate her.

However, viewers were quick to pick up on the possibility that she may not actually exist.

Last week, we were taken aback to learn that Rowan had created an AI version of Leanne’s deceased son Oliver for her to talk to – could Willow be another of these bizarre fakeries?

‘Oh Leanne, Willow is clearly AI generated. You are now recruiting for Rowan’s cult’ said one concerned fan on X/Twitter.

Another commented: ‘”Willow” is AI, like fake Oliver!’

We wouldn’t put it past Rowan to be the mastermind behind the organisation, having fabricated several other ‘leaders’ to make it more convincing, and to further entrap Leanne!

However, that wouldn’t explain the suspicious man who has been watching Toyah from afar.

Who is he, and what does he want? Is her life at risk?

His presence seemed to be enough to convince her to sign the non disclosure agreement that Rowan suggested to waiver any further court action. But she still has £15,000 to pay in costs, plus around £1,000 for the funeral of her baby Rose.

We have so many questions!
