EastEnders confirms major character return for devastating funeral
Karen is heading back to Albert Square
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was rocked by the recent news that Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) funeral is being held this week in EastEnders, and it led her to spiral as she struggled with her drinking.
Already struggling ahead of Father’s Day, things got even worse for Linda when Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) agreed to hold Keanu’s funeral in the Queen Vic, free of charge.
Horrified, Linda turned to the bottle, where things soon got out of hand.
With Linda shouting about how she killed Keanu on Christmas Day, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) grew concerned that she was going to expose their secret – though that would soon prove to be the least of her worries.
Karen is heading back to Albert Square
After leaving Linda to sober up with Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), Sharon paid Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) a visit to update her on the situation.
When Kathy asked when the funeral was being held, Sharon revealed that it would be on Thursday, and that Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) would be coming back for it.
Karen left Walford last year, having pocketed £50,000 of Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) cash, and headed to Spain to start a new life with Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) and the kids.
However, when Keanu went missing after Christmas, Karen returned to Albert Square to look for him – unaware that he had been stabbed to death by Linda on Christmas Day and buried beneath the café floor.
When Keanu’s body was finally discovered, Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) headed over to Spain to break the devastating news to Karen.
In upcoming scenes, Sharon attempts to attend Keanu’s funeral, but how will she cope coming face to face with Karen once more?
