Home and Away’s Bree pursues new romance after split from Remi
Stevie's presence has a silver lining for Bree.
Home and Away‘s Bree Cameron will make a new romantic connection on UK screens next week, as she tries to move on following her sad split from Remi Carter.
With Bree and Remi’s relationship seemingly over for good, Remi has already been moving on with film star Stevie Marlow, but it seems that Stevie’s presence could actually result in a new connection for Bree too.
In scenes that will air in the UK on Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18, Stevie is filled with excitement as she prepares to shoot her new movie in Summer Bay. However, she quickly runs into a problem as she struggles to track down her director, Nelson Giles.
Little does she know that Nelson is busy getting to know Bree nearby. It’s clear that the pair have chemistry and by the time their conversation ends, Nelson is offering Bree his number.
Bree tells Nelson that she is fresh out of a serious relationship and doesn’t want to rush into anything new, but Nelson reassures her that he just wants to get to know her a little better.
When Stevie finally tracks Nelson down, she angrily gives him an earful about how she’s been looking everywhere for him, reminding him that they have a lot of work to do. Exes Remi and Bree end up face to face as they stand beside their new flings, with the atmosphere intensely awkward.
Remi tries not to react to the flirty looks being exchanged between Nelson and Bree. When he later speaks to Kirby Aramoana about the situation, he insists that he’s happy to see Bree moving on and enjoying herself.
Bree and Kirby later decide to have a girl’s day out by the beach, but their plans are thwarted by the arrival of Stevie, who has Nelson and Remi in tow. In an attempt to convince Nelson of her vision for their new romcom, she acts out the climactic scene, planting a passionate kiss on Remi in full view of Bree.
The display is enough to convince Bree that if her ex is moving on, she can too, and she calls Nelson and agrees to go on a date with him. Things get off to a great start for the pair, but their date goes awry when they run into Stevie and Remi again.
With Nelson unaware of all the messy connections in the group, he invites the couple to join him and Bree. While she and Remi try to protest, they can’t escape from Stevie’s enthusiasm and they’re left with no choice. Remi and Bree sit silently beside each other, ready to endure an excruciating double date.
As the quartet spend time together, Stevie figures out that Bree is Remi’s ex and the situation eventually gets too painful for Bree, who makes her excuses to leave. When Nelson follows her, Bree opens up to him about the truth of the situation.
Nelson is sympathetic, pointing out that anyone would find that situation difficult. He adds that it would be a shame if Bree wanted to spend the rest of the day alone, because he’s loved being in her company and would like to invite her for dinner. Bree smiles, revealing that she doesn’t hate that idea at all.
Meanwhile, Remi feels bad about his role in the double date fiasco, so he asks to meet Bree at her place later. He apologises for imposing on her time with Nelson, as well as for the fact that Stevie kept constantly bringing the conversation back to his and Bree’s relationship.
Bree shares her insecurities with Remi, pointing out that Stevie’s straight-talking ways are the opposite of her own personality and suggesting that he must find that refreshing. Remi, however, reassures Bree that he’s always loved her thoughtfulness.
He adds that their situation will get easier with time, and the former couple agree that they’ll always want the best for each other. Have they turned a corner as they navigate their new friendship?
