The actor has confirmed he has left the soap in an emotional post
EMMERDALE star Emile John has confirmed he has quit the show after three years – and his final scenes have already aired.
The actor – who played Ethan Anderson in the ITV soap – bowed out of the soap last night when viewers watched Ethan suffer a shock collapse.
His death wasn’t seen on-screen leading to hopes it may have all been a scheme for Ethan to avoid his impending prison sentence.
However, Emile has confirmed that Ethan’s death is real and he’s left the soap.
“After three years, Ethan’s journey on Emmerdale has come to an end,” he wrote in an emotional Instagram post.
“I feel extremely privileged to have entered this industry working on such an Iconic show.
“I honestly had the time of my life! Sharing the space with such talented folk on and off screen for the last few years has been a huge honour and an experience that’ll stay with me always.
“Huge thank you to those of you who have been invested in any of my storylines throughout my time on the show, seeing your reactions and opening important conversations have made it all the more worth it!
“With Love, Ethan Out.”
Fans flocked to share their thoughts on his post.
One wrote: “You were absolutely amazing as Ethan and I’ll definitely miss watching him every evening! All the best on your next venture.”

Over the weekend Emile hinted he had left the show during a Q&A on Instagram.
On the Q&A, a fan told him: “Praying Ethan doesn’t end up leaving the village. Fave character and storylines.”
Another fan said: “Can’t wait to see what movie he’s in after Emmerdale”.
He replied: “Me too bruh. Me too.”
