George Knight set to leave as Elaine Peacock kicks him out over his betrayal with Cindy Beale in EastEnders
Elaine demanded that George leave
Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) put her foot down in recent EastEnders scenes when she demanded that George Knight (Colin Salmon) leave after his betrayal with ex-wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
George has been having a tough time in EastEnders recently, following the death of his mum Gloria and dad Eddie’s murder trial.
On one of his worst days, George headed to an underground boxing ring to fight, but was stopped by concerned bouncers.
Thankfully, Cindy found him and took him back to the Boxing Den to talk, though they soon ended up doing more than that when they locked lips.
Elaine demanded that George leave
Fighting was George’s coping mechanism, though the toll it was having on his body soon became clear, when he almost collapsed and was later diagnosed with a brain condition called Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).
Despite doctors’ warnings that one bad knock to the head could be enough to kill him, George was desperate to fight again, and nothing his daughters or fiancé said was enough to stop him.
Terrified of their girls losing their dad, Cindy laid down the law and threatened to tell Elaine all about their kiss if George stepped foot in the ring, but little did she know, Elaine had heard everything.
After keeping it to herself for a number of days, Elaine finally pulled George aside for a chat in tonight’s (May 16) episode, where she admitted that she knew all about his betrayal when he refused to talk to her about his feelings.
She revealed that, although she wanted nothing more than to fix things between them, she felt as though George didn’t care about their relationship as he was so unbothered by the possibility of Cindy ruining everything by spilling their secret.
When Elaine brought up Junior spotting George and Cindy talking, George insisted that she was just there, though Elaine pointed out that she wasn’t far either, and had been there all along waiting for him to open up to her.
George was desperate not to lose her, and asked what he could do to fix things, though Elaine made it clear that it was too late when she asked him to leave.
Is this the end for George and Elaine?
