Kat makes a big decision to leave after fresh Alfie drama – and it’s good news for someone in EastEnders

With rumours flying about Kat Mitchell (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon’s (Shane Richie) potential reunion, Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) throws a spanner in the works.

We’ll see this week that the former husband and wife enjoy a meal together with sons Tommy (Sonny Kendall), Bert and Ernie to celebrate his last hormone therapy.

Long-term viewers of the BBC One soap will remember that the couple were married for fifteen years, but went their separate ways in 2019.

Her most recent relationship was with villainous Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdry) following the breakdown of her marriage to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

Kat learnt that Phil had slept with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) and vowed to rinse him of his money and businesses.

Seeing that the family had been torn apart, Nish offered her and the boys one of his many properties rent free, clearly with the ulterior motive to get his hands on Phil’s cash.

Luckily, Kat and the other Walford women were able to drive him out of the neighbourhood and she was offered a space to stay at Alfie’s flat whilst he went on a holiday at the conclusion of his cancer treatment.

Ever since, Kalfie fans have been shouting out for a reconciliation, and we’re totally here for it – and it seems young Tommy is too.

Noticing his mum flirting with her ex, he offers to take the twins home early so they can enjoy their evening together.

In upcoming scenes, Alfie calls Kat to tell her he suspects he’s being burgled, and after hitting the culprits with one of the lads’ toy baseball bats, discovers it’s Freddie and Big Mo (Laila Morse)!

The family are over the moon to have them back in the Square, but there’s a devastating blow for Freddie when he realises there isn’t enough room for him at Alfie’s, and he’ll have to move in with the rest of the clan at No. 31.

We’re not sure that house has much space either, but anyway…

With everyone gossiping about her and Alfie being an item, she decides its best to move out.

However, when Freddie hears what she’s planning, he decides to play matchmaker and puts an end to Kat’s move.

Is this the start of something special?
