Emmerdale’s Tom King unrepentant over Belle Dingle’s injury – as he takes sickening action to play the hero
Tom continued to gaslight Belle
Sick abuser Tom King (James Chase) left Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) in agony in recent Emmerdale scenes when he purposefully burnt her hand beneath the tap, though he has failed to show any remorse for his actions.
Instead, he has spun the shocking event on its head and tried to convince Belle that she was blowing things out of proportion and overreacting to what had happened.
He was quite insistent that her injury had been an accident, and used language that suggested she was at fault, which she was quick to pick up on.
He wasted no time in playing the doting husband, offering her a bandage to cover up the wound.

That wasn’t where his hero complex ended though, as he soon pulled out some of Belle’s ‘stolen’ jewellery that had been missing for several weeks.
Tom informed her that it had been found in a random pawn shop and the police had recently returned it – though viewers know that that isn’t the truth, given that Tom had been the one to stage the break in.
Later, Belle was clearly horrified at how casual Tom was being, though he soon covered by insisting that he didn’t want them to argue.
He once again turned things around to suggest that Belle was at fault, by pointing out that they had been arguing about something she had done.
He continued to belittle his actions by suggesting that he hadn’t known her hand was under the tap and he’d let go as soon as he realised, though viewers will know that that wasn’t the case.
Tom went on to reveal that he suspected Belle was using this to distract from the ‘real issue’, which was the fact that Belle had lied about taking contraceptive pills.
It was clear that Tom’s gaslighting was making Belle second guess herself, when she later agreed with Tom that they should put the incident behind them.
Will Belle be able to escape Tom’s abuse before things get any worse?
