Emmerdale reveals crap twist for Ruby Fox-Miligan that causes fury

Ruby might have met her match

It looks like Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) might have met her match on Emmerdale when she decided to lock horns with Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) – as the feisty farmer is proving to be more than a match for Ruby’s scheming.

Ruby’s constantly simmering low-level annoyance at the Dingles in general became specifically targeted at Moira when Moira accidentally splashed her with mud when she drove past her.

This led to a stand-off in the road later when Ruby refused to reverse her car so Moira – whose car was pulling a trailer full of cows – could get past.

Ruby could have happily sat there all day but had to give up because she was also blocking Will Taylor’s (Dean Andrews) route to the hospital to see his ill grandson.

Keen to get proper revenge on Moira, Ruby sowed the seeds of a rumour that her rival was suffering from scabies.

This led to some amusing scenes with Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) who was not keen on having Moira in the cafe and could only thank the invention of contactless payments for sparing her from touching Moira’s ‘contaminated’ cash.

Of course Moira soon found out about this rumour and made sure everyone knew she wasn’t suffering from a nasty skin complaint.

Then in Monday (May 6)’s episode she decided to get her own back on Ruby – by taking her sister-in-law for lunch.

Ruby was determined to make the most of this and insisted on the B&B as a venue, where she proceeded to order expensive steak and knock back cocktails. She got increasingly drunk and regaled Moira with stories such as the one about her first sexual encounter with Caleb Miligan (William Ash).

He’d produced a scene-setting mix tape, she revealed, but at the crucial moment the mood was ruined by Michael Ball singing Love Changes Everything. Who knew that Caleb was a musical theatre fan?

Even though the lunch was supposed to be mending the relationship between them, Ruby couldn’t help herself from making jibes about Moira’s job as a farmer, ‘Stinking of cow pats. No offence.’

Moira had taken offence though. When it was time to pay the bill she was nowhere to be seen. Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) told Ruby that Moira – who Ruby thought had gone to the toilet – had actually left quite some time ago.

Ruby had no option but to pay for the expensive lunch she’d just had.

That would have been revenge enough for Moira, but she wasn’t content to leave it at that.

When Ruby got home she found Moira outside. Ruby warmed her that she was going to ‘pay her back double’ for what she’d done, but then she noticed a bit of a whiff.

Caleb came out of the house – and they both stared at the enormous heap of gently steaming cow manure Moira had left outside their front door.

‘Call it payback for that little scabies prank,’ Moira grinned, while Caleb couldn’t believe that once again Ruby had managed to make enemies among his family.
