Home and Away’s Theo Poulos to have second thoughts in drugs storyline
Theo is worried about Valerie.
Home and Away‘s Theo Poulos will have second thoughts in his ongoing drug storyline.
Theo recently began a secret relationship with newcomer Valerie Beaumont, who befriended his aunt Leah Patterson during her inpatient stay at a mental health clinic.
After confiding in Valerie about his challenges at college and with his music, she offered him drugs to “help with stress”, which has led him down a dark path.
In scenes set to air on Friday, May 10 in the UK, Theo and Valerie arrive home after a late night out partying.
A tired Theo wants to sleep, but Valerie struggles with the quiet as there’s nothing to distract her from her own mind.
While cuddling in bed, Theo tells Valerie that he’s falling in love with her. His admission doesn’t bode well with Valerie, who jumps out of bed and makes a quick exit.
An upset Valerie later asks Theo to take back what he said because she’s worried about letting him down. She also reveals that she’s scared about Leah and Justin kicking her out, following the loss of her own parents.
Theo later brings Valerie home, and as soon as they arrive, she pulls out a couple of pills and pressures him into taking them with her.
A concerned Theo pretends to take a pill, but when Valerie closes her eyes, he takes the drug out of his mouth and quickly throws it away, after realising things are getting out of control. Will Theo confide in someone?
Speaking about her character’s backstory in an interview with TV Week, actor Courtney Clarke previously revealed that Valerie suffers from “trauma and self-loathing”, which influences her decision to go to Summer Bay.
“She is pretty deep down a road of trauma and self-loathing when she meets Leah in the clinic. Valerie decides that the best thing for her to do is be around her newfound friend… and so she heads to Summer Bay,” she said.
