Anna Knight gets devastating news that will destroy broken George in EastEnders – and it’s unbelievably cruel
Anna was given some devastating news
George Knight (Colin Salmon) has been in pieces since the tragic death of his mum Gloria in EastEnders, and to make things even worse, his murderous dad Eddie refused to grant Gloria’s dying wish to be cremated instead of buried in their shared plot.
George’s family had noticed how out of sorts he had been following the trauma of the last few months, and soon arranged a meeting to discuss how they could help him.
Though Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) advised against it, Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) planned to get in contact with Eddie and persuade him to allow George to attend the funeral.
Out of earshot of the rest of the family, she asked lawyer Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) if he could help her to get in contact with him.
Anna was given some devastating news
As the day went on with no contact from Eddie, Anna was left feeling more and more downhearted, and sister Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) suggested she give up on her mission for her own sake.
However, Anna was determined to make things right for George, and wasn’t prepared to give up until she’d spoken to Eddie.
Unfortunately, the call she’d been waiting for didn’t make her feel any better, and as soon as she’d hung up Gina could tell that something was wrong.
Knowing that Eddie was a nasty piece of work, Gina urged Anna not to take anything he’d said to heart, though Anna revealed that that wasn’t what had upset her.
Heartbroken, she explained that Gloria’s funeral had been held the previous day, meaning that George had missed it entirely.
Anna knew that this would leave George completely devastated, and she lamented over how she was going to break the news to him.
How will George react when he learns the awful news?
