Linda Carter’s guilt over 𝕞urder lie as grieving EastEnders character makes emotional return

Linda had to cover her guilt

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) continued to struggle with her guilt in recent EastEnders scenes, but things can only get worse following the return of grieving Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris).

After paying a visit to dad Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) in prison, Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green) returned to the Queen Vic, where she pulled Linda aside and told her that she hoped she would get closure one day.

Linda was raped by Dean back in 2014, though when Jade initially found out she believed his lies over Linda.

Now though, with Dean having confessed to tampering with Jade’s medication to keep her close, it is clear that she believes Linda over him.

Jade admitted that due to Dean’s controlling nature, she had never been able to see past his manipulation, but now that she was out of his clutches she could see him for what he really was.

While it was clear that Jade believed Linda had been telling the truth about the rape, she was still torn about whether or not Dean could commit murder.

Dean was recently charged with the murder of Keanu Taylor, after being framed by The Six, who witnessed Linda stab him to death on Christmas Day.

Knowing that Dean was innocent of the murder, guilty Linda told Jade not to worry about it, and live her life in Pakistan free of Dean, before Jade revealed that she hoped Linda could one day be free of him too.

Despite everything Dean had done to her in the past, it was clear that Linda was still battling with the guilt of putting the blame on him – and things are only going to get harder for her, as later in the episode Bernie returned home.

As the Slaters were waving Jade off, Bernie’s cab pulled up, and she was faced with an awkward atmosphere.

Thankfully, Bernie didn’t blame Jade for what her dad had supposedly done, and instead revealed that she wished she had had more time to get to know her properly.

As Bernie walked away, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) was also forced to hide her guilt, having been the one to plant the murder weapon in Dean’s flat.

Will Bernie’s presence send The Six spiralling once more?
