Emmerdale’s Mark Charnock says thank you after ‘unexpected bonus’

Emmerdale’s Marlon Dingle actor has shared his “huge thanks” after appearing on another ITV show on Thursday.

Mark Charnock, 55, has become a household name after decades in the long-running soap. Recently his character has been at the centre of a storyline that has seen wife Rhona Goskirk have her frozen eggs taken without her consent.

Her ex husband Gus Malcolm fraudulently took the eggs to make a baby, Ivy, with his now late wife. Rhona has now been introduced to a baby that is biologically hers, but that she never initially wanted.

Mark appeared on This Morning to discuss the episode, after scenes aired on Wednesday showing Marlon furious with Rhona for changing her statement during Gus’ trial at the last minute.

After This Morning went out on ITV, Mark took to X – formerly Twitter – to thank hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley for having him on the show. He said: “Huge thanks to the lovely humans that are @benshephard @catdeeley and the whole @thismorning team.

“Always so welcoming, funny and kind. #BuddyTheDog eating Cat’s shoe while it was still on her foot during the interview was an unexpected entertainment bonus. #Emmerdale”

Ben, 49, replied: “Despite looking like you’re separating a fight Mark, was a delight to have you in as ever! You kept your focus brilliantly during #Buddythedog devouring @catdeeley shoe that’s testament to your commitment to your craft!”
