Zack Hudson reels in EastEnders as he discovers Whitney Dean’s lies – but not from Lauren Branning

Whitney faces some questions from Zack who, quite rightly, wants answers about her lies

Zack Hudson (James Farrar) demanded answers from Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) in EastEnders after Britney Wainwright (Lola Campbell) told him the truth about how she came to be in their care.

Whitney, as viewers will recall, first encountered Britney during a trip to Milton Keynes to visit Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer). Britney is the daughter of Bianca’s neighbour Keeley (Kirsty J Curtis).

Keeley was neglectful to Britney, who hadn’t attended school in over four years. Striking up a bond with Britney, who she saw some of herself in, Whitney was determined to protect the 12-year-old – so much so that she paid Keeley to take her off her hands.

Zack, who already had concerns about pregnant Whitney’s priorities, was horrified when she returned to the Square with Britney in tow, with Whitney claiming that they’re officially her foster parents.

Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), however, knows what really happened in Milton Keynes and has warned Whitney against lying to Zack again, urging her to come clean – otherwise they could be in trouble with the law and lose everything as a result.

Whitney has, time and again, promised to tell Zack the truth and yet failed to do so – so much so that Lauren threatened to do it for her.

In Wednesday’s (April 24) edition of the BBC serial drama, Whitney was particularly worried about Britney following her diagnosis with Usher Syndrome and thus put off being honest with Zack again.

Britney, meanwhile, attended her first day at school, which proved challenging, with some girls bullying her.

Whitney was livid when she found out and despite everyone encouraging to her to leave the situation alone she wasted little time in confronting the teen bully, ordering her to stay away from Britney – or else.

Upon finding out that Whitney had ignored her wishes, Britney wasted little time in telling Zack that Whit ‘stole’ her – and that she’s not actually their foster daughter.

Whitney returned home just as an irate Zack demanded answers. But just what will she have to say for herself?
