Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) has embraced the cunning side to his personality this week in Emmerdale.
Yesterday, on the morning of Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Matty’s (Ash Palmisciano) wedding, Kerry (Laura Norton) broke the news that she couldn’t actually afford to pay for the ceremony.
As Amy and Matty panicked over the prospect of cancelling everything, they were given some news.
It turned out Pollard decided to pay for their big day, meaning Amy and Matty could tie the knot after all.
Jacob was heartbroken
That evening, it was revealed Eric could only afford the generous gift because he had flogged some expensive jewellery.
Certainly tempted to continue dabbling, Eric accepted another envelope of cash from his friend, left his car and smirked as he walked away.
In tonight’s (April 18) episode of the ITV soap, Eric was on hand to support Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant), who had been dumped by Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).
Vic ended her relationship with Jacob because they were at different stages of their life.
Jacob was obviously heartbroken. He arrived at the shop with red eyes and told Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) and Pollard that he doesn’t know what to do now he isn’t with Victoria.
Angry that his grandson was so upset, Eric made his way to the pub to confront Vic.
Later that evening, as Eric closed up the shop, Jai (Chris Bisson) popped in for some bread.
To his surprise, Jai was blackmailed by Eric, who told him to sack Victoria from HOP, or he would reveal what really happened to Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam).
Jai was taken aback by the comments, but Eric made things perfectly clear to him.
Where will this development leave Victoria? Is not sacking her a risk Jai can really take?
