Emmerdale ‘confirms’ major age-gap affair between surprising pair
Well, this wasn’t on our bingo card
Emmerdale loves a good affair story, and shocking ones at that – no one could have been prepared for Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) getting it on with Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) on the surgery bed.
And then there was Caleb (Will Ash) choosing to sleep with his nephew’s wife Tracy (Amy Walsh) and simultaneously destroying his connection to his beloved family.
The latest affair comes with equal shock factor, both for the innocent lives it could ruin, and for the fact that it’s just a ruddy odd couple.
Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) looks set to be the instigator of the affair, having become disillusioned in her relationship with Charles (Kevin Mathurin) since his proposal attempt tanked.
Well, this wasn’t on our bingo card
Manpreet’s reluctance to become engaged saw her bizarrely confide in Billy that perhaps she’s not as happy with Charles as she thought.
Things are no better for the pair as Manpreet tries to put things right but feels left out in the cold by his lack of interest. Billy (Jay Kontzle) gives her a push to make things better and she takes his advice in setting up a dinner date.
But it’s not enough to stop her from wondering what else could be.
When she hears of Billy starting up his fitness business Manpreet immediately signs up for the classes in order to get some excitement back in her life.
The excitement comes in an unexpected form, she realises she’s developing quite the crush on Billy. The age gap doesn’t faze her one bit.
Billy is worrying a great deal about his childcare issues and while Kim (Claire King) and Will (Dean Andrews) try to help formulate a plan around this, his mind is completely preoccupied.
He is so distracted that while during a PT lesson with Manpreet, he doesn’t even realise that Manpreet is quite bodacious in flirting with him. But the important question is, how will he react when she makes her move?
Will he risk everything he’s worked so hard for with Dawn?
