Charley Webb has teased a new role after leaving Emmerdale
Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb has confirmed her return to the screen in an upcoming untitled project.
The actress, who played Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap, shared a snap of a script with a tag with her name on it.
Charley, 36, made her final appearance in Emmerdale in 2021 when Debbie staged a surprise comeback as part of a storyline which saw her revealed to be Al Chapman’s mystery love interest.
She decided to spread her wings and leave the show, and has since gone on to play numerous other roles, including a police officer in new ITV drama The Long Shadow.

Last year Charley was on stage in the Chichester Theatre adaptation of Quiz – a drama depicting the story of Charles Ingram, who infamously cheated his way to the jackpot on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
Charley played Charles’ wife, Diana, who played an integral part in Charles’ and the subsequent scandal that came when he was found out.
After finding such success elsewhere, Charley has admitted that she has no regrets about leaving Emmerdale.
‘It felt like the right time for me personally to make that jump from Emmerdale and I don’t have any regrets about it,’ she told whattowatch.com.
She went on to explain how choosing the right project is important to her.
‘I’m ambitious to push myself and it’s just about choosing the right projects from now on.
‘It’s hard to say no to work, but I trust my agent and I trust the process. Hopefully, I’ve made some good choices so far.’
Last November, Charley and Emmerdale co-star husband Matthew Wolfenden shared a joint statement on Instagram to confirm their separation, which presented a united front.
‘It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake, we would appreciate privacy at this time,’ Charley’s post read.
While Matthew posted an almost-identical paragraph but swapped his own name for Charley’s name.
