Violence horror for Phil Mitchell as brutal battering shocks locals in EastEnders
Phil tries to prevent the violence
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is left concerned in upcoming EastEnders scenes when good friend George Knight (Colin Salmon) puts himself in a dangerous situation.
George has been having a really rough time in recent weeks, after learning that his adopted dad Eddie Knight (Christopher Fairbank) murdered his biological father.
More recently, he was left torn when mum Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell) collapsed and was rushed to hospital.
In upcoming scenes, George tries to get back in contact with his estranged son to update him on the family news but ends up connecting to his voicemail.

He then receives a call from Eddie, who wishes to meet to discuss Gloria. It doesn’t take long for them to break into a vicious showdown, throwing wounding words at each other, which sends George deeper into despair.
With George unable to contain his fury, he heads to the underground boxing ring, but is soon caught by buddy Phil, who tries his best to put him off going inside.
As Phil begs him not to fight, George refuses to listen, and unfortunately the match doesn’t go in his favour and the pub landlord ends up getting knocked out.
The next day, George wakes up on Phil’s sofa, completely battered and bruised.
When he finally heads home, his family are gobsmacked at the state he’s in, but he refuses to tell them what really happened, instead lying that he was jumped by some thugs.
Later, he is left spiralling after receiving another knockback from Eddie, and when he storms off, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) decides not to intervene.
Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), however, is seriously worried about her ex, and soon confronts Phil in the hopes of finding out where George is going.
Together, Cindy and Phil head to the boxing club, where they find George arguing with the bouncer refusing him entry.
Instead, Cindy takes him back to the Boxing Den to talk. Will she be able to get him to open up?
