EastEnders spoilers – Agony for Cindy on the 10th anniversary of Lucy’s 𝕕eath as she makes a big mistake
Cindy was ‘𝕕ead’ 10 years ago
Can you believe it? It’s ten years since Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) was brutally murdered in EastEnders, and as her family gather to remember her, mum Cindy (Michelle Collins) finds herself in a sticky situation.
The legacy character was killed off in undoubtedly the BBC soap’s biggest ever storyline at Easter in 2014.
In a huge ‘whodunnit?’ plot, it wasn’t until the following February that we learnt her half-brother Bobby (then Eliot Carrington) had hit her over the head with a jewellery box that she used to store her drugs.
In a further bizarre twist, it was revealed last year that Cindy hadn’t died 25 years ago as originally thought, but had in fact been living under a witness protection scheme in Spain.
Cindy was ‘dead’ 10 years ago
After learning Lucy had died, she put her new family’s lives at risk and jetted back to Walford to watch ex-husband Ian (Adam Woodyatt) grieving from afar.
A special episode that blended archive footage with new scenes of Cindy aired last year.
In upcoming scenes, Ian and their son Peter (Thomas Law) bring the family together on the 10th anniversary to remember Lucy.
As the family chat about times gone by,Cindy struggles as she misremembers things and is reminded of the several years she lost with her daughter when she was ‘dead’.
Meanwhile, her ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) wakes up on Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) sofa badly bruised after partaking in an underground fight to release some of his anger towards racist and murderous dad Eddie (Christopher Fairbank).
Back at the Vic, fiancée Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) and daughters Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford) are concerned for him when he returns home and lies, saying he’s been jumped by some thugs.
Deciding not to intervene, Elaine allows him to storm off after another set back, and Cindy charges towards Phil to find out where he’s going.
At the underground boxing club, the bouncers decide not to let him in and she convinces him to head to the Boxing Den instead.
After Lucy’s memorial, as the emotions get the better of her, Cindy rushes out and once again finds comfort by confiding in George.
A number of fans have speculated that the episodes could feature a huge return for the Beale family, as an ominous hour long episode is currently scheduled in TV listings without a synopsis.
