Emmerdale couple set to get married – but one of them isn’t happy

She’s in for a shock!

It’s Wedding Season in Emmerdale, what with Belle (Eden Taylor Draper) and Tom King (James Chase) having just tied the knot and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) working on setting a date.

A third couple are due to join the ranks, but not everyone will be doing so with a smile on their face.

Some might say it’s about time Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) and Charles (Kevin Mathurin) tie the knot, but Manpreet is not one of those people.

The couple seems to be solid, having been though a lot in the last few years – including Charles having a hand in his dad’s death – but they’ve always come up trumps, with Manpreet recently gushing to new pal Ruby about how fit her man is.

But a new Bishop on the block is set to disrupt everything.

Claudette (Flo Wilson) all about making the best impression on this new guy. But her vicar son living with his lover out of wedlock sets Claudette’s teeth on edge and she suggests, though not too gently, that Charles should make an honest woman of Manpreet.

Charles takes what she’s said on board and hints to the Bishop that they do plan to marry. Sounds like he’s gearing up to something special. Shame he hasn’t broached the subject with his other half.

Charles decides he knows what he has to do and prepares himself to ask his lady love to commit to him for the rest of their lives.

But Manpreet is caught completely off guard when he suddenly proposes. With no time to think, Manpreet accepts, and before she knows it, she’s swept up in the whirlwind of post-proposal bliss as Gail announces it to the pub.

So, this is really happening. But the bliss isn’t hers as Manpreet is having serious doubts. Will she rescind her ‘yes’?
