Emmerdale spoilers – Villainous Jai Sharma’s next major step after getting rid of 𝕜iller dad Amit

Jai is now lying to his family

Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) was more than happy to get his teeth back into business at HOP after Amit’s (Anil Goutam) departure in Emmerdale.

Last week, Jai made the discovery his biological father Amit is a ‘pathological liar’. He saw Amit speaking to a loan shark in a layby and later told Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) everything.

Realising Amit had taken them all for a ride, Jai wanted revenge, and it involved pushing the evil man down the stairs at Holdgate – the same way Rishi (Bhasker Patel) died.

While Amit didn’t die, his pride certainly did. Jai kept him tied up and said he’d let him go if he signed over his shares in Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits and left for India.

Back at the HOP, Jai dealt a further blow and told Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) that his dad had left nothing to him as he didn’t think he was capable of running a business.

In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) checked in on Jai and asked how he was doing. It was obvious he was feeling guilty, but he covered by saying he was thinking about how to tell their children that Amit had gone.

At HOP, a stressed Gabby (Rosie Bentham) arrived and wanted answers about Amit’s sudden disappearance. Suni, trying to process the last few days, just pointed Gabby in the direction of Jai – her new business partner.

During a meeting, Gabby learnt about Amit’s true self and how Jai apparently ‘stepped in’ to stop the business going under.

Painting himself as a hero, Jai told Gabby that nothing has to change moving forward and, unlike Amit, he is someone she can ‘trust’.

Eventually, it looked like Gabby had accepted the development, but will things stay the same, just as Jai said?

Teasing the future for his character, Chris Bisson explained: ‘It has changed something inside him and going forward the way he views life and people and relationships may well be affected. Certainly the way he treats business will probably be affected too.

‘I think he is going to become a bit more ruthless. He feels he has been taken for a bit of a fool and he feels like that is never going to happen again. So yes maybe Bad Jai is back! And do you know what I quite like bad Jai. He’s fun to play!

‘But he’s not all bad though, he’s a good dad and he has some redeeming qualities but we have seen him go down this path before – so who knows what lies ahead…’
