ITV Emmerdale fans issue warning to Paddy and Mandy as they get engaged for second time
Emmerdale fans watched on tonight as Paddy and Mandy got engaged for a second time when Paddy got down on one knee in tonight's episode
Emmerdale fans issued a warning as Paddy and Mandy got engaged tonight.
Paddy and Mandy finally rekindled their romance tonight after Mandy’s upset that Paddy had kissed his former flame Chas Dingle. To hit back at him, she kissed doctor Liam Cavanagh to get back at her partner.
However, tonight, they decided to get back together when Paddy surprised Mandy is his Prince Charming outfit. When they were home later, Paddy decided he didn’t want to lose Mandy and he proposed to her.
Taking to social media, fans commented on the scenes, with one writing: “Oh no-Have Paddy and Mandy forgotten how it ended the first time they got married!.” A second added: “Paddy and Mandy are to wed. What we have all wanted #Emmerdale,” as a third shared on social media: “I give Paddy and Mandy 6 months #Emmerdale.”
These big scenes are almost identical to the past one when Paddy and Mandy got engaged, with Lisa Riley opening up about working with Dominic Brunt on the romance between the characters.
Speaking about the scenes, Lisa Riley – who plays Mandy – told TV Times: “The truth is that Dominic and I talk about it all the time. I think that’s probably why the producers and the writers wanted to emulate the 1999 proposal, because it’s one of those moments in soap history. I remember us being like Romeo and Juliet, with Mandy upstairs and Paddy downstairs in what is now Pollard’s shop, which was Mandy’s boutique back in the day. All those memories came flooding back.
“Mandy and Paddy have always had their Cinderella moments, and what’s so wonderful about this week is all these little moments are dropped in, which take you back to 1999. In the first proposal, Mandy didn’t lose her shoe like Cinderella – she lost her sparkly earring.”
She went on to recall: “This time, she puts her lucky earrings in. The dress she wears is a similar colour to the one she wore at the ball – we didn’t want to copy it identically. There are other things…. when she sees Paddy in his suit, she says: ‘You’ve always been my Prince Charming.’ It just felt so correct. It’s what the audience has been waiting for, and it’s what we’ve been working towards.”
