EastEnders confirms details of the major ℂrime that leads to Ben Mitchell’s exit

Ben was arrested for a previous ℂrime

This article contains spoilers for Monday’s (March 25) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

EastEnders has confirmed details of the major crime that leads to Ben Mitchell’s (Max Bowden) exit in recent scenes which saw him be arrested.

Ben thought his biggest worry of the day would be throwing together a last minute birthday party for husband Callum Highway (Tony Clay), but he couldn’t have been more wrong.

Things all seemed to be going to plan, until Callum overheard Ben explaining the plans to Honey Mitchell and Kathy Beale (Emma Barton and Gillian Taylforth) – though luckily Ben managed to cover his tracks.

Later, the Mitchells gathered in the Queen Vic to celebrate Callum’s big day, and he was thrilled with the whole thing – even despite the somewhat disappointing decorations.

However, the peace was soon interrupted by the arrival of some local officers, who announced that there was an international warrant out for his arrest due to a fraud he committed in America.

Viewers will remember that Ben took a last minute trip to America last year, in the hopes of securing Lola Pearce a place on a drugs trial to prolong her life after her brain tumour diagnosis.

Unfortunately, Lola’s condition deteriorated while he was away, and she sadly passed away before ben could get home.

Ben instructed the officers to take things outside, away from young daughter Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown), and it wasn’t long before Kathy noticed what was going on.

She demanded to know what was going on, though Ben seemed just as confused as everyone else.

Is he set to face prison for this crime, or have they got the wrong man?
