EastEnders spoilers: Jay Brown in for a big shock as controversial love interest returns

Jay is set to get a big shock

Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) is set to get a shock in upcoming EastEnders scenes when former love interest Nadine Keller (Jazzy Phoenix) returns to Albert Square.

Sex worker Nadine caught Jay’s attention last autumn, and the pair soon began a controversial relationship, with Jay’s close friends noting how she bore a striking resemblance to his late wife Lola Pearce.

Lola was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2022, and sadly died several months later after a difficult journey.

Jay found comfort in sleeping next to Nadine following Lola’s passing, but things grew more complicated when he paid her for sex.

It was also Nadine who supplied Jay with ketamine, which ultimately led to a near fatal car accident when Jay got behind the wheel while under the influence.

This spring, Nadine is set to pay Jay another visit, as Jazzy Phoenix reprises her role.

An insider said: ‘Jay was in a dark place when he met Nadine, but things got even worse once they were involved.

‘When Jay realised that he needed to sort his life out, he cut Nadine out, and they’ve not been in touch since. Why Nadine is back remains to be seen.’

Jazzy has already begun filming and will be back on screen this April.

One person who is sure to be thrilled by this return is actor Jamie Borthwick, who enthused about working with Jazzy to us at the Inside Soap Awards 2023.

‘She was great,’ he told us. ‘Honestly, she was so nice.

‘She was really aware of Danielle [Harold]’s space and she didn’t want to tread on anyone’s toes or anything like that. She was great.

‘She was such a nice girl, she was brilliant on screen. We got on really well and we still do get on really well. She’s such a nice person, so we had a really good time.’
