EastEnders fans have spotted a huge blunder with Stacey Slater in a new scene.
Stacey has been struggling since the murder of Keanu Taylor at Christmas, with her fellow matriarchs of Walford also battling their own feelings about what happened. Denise was the one who attacked Nish, whilst Linda killed Keanu, but all six of the women – including Suki, Sharon, Kathy and Stacey – helped to hide the body in the café and ensure their crime was kept a secret.
On last night’s episode of the BBC soap, fans watched on as Johnny Carter – the son of Linda Carter – headed to the Slaters and snuck in through the back door. Viewers were surprised to see Stacey had left the back door open, having been subjected to a harrowing turn of events at the hands of her stalker Theo Hawthorne just a few months before.
One wrote: “Another man just barging in Stacey’s back door. Has she ever heard of a lock?” whilst a second added: “I’d have that entrance sealed! It’s getting to be ridiculous now!” A third shared: “Everyone just walks into Stacey’s kitchen.”
A fourth added: “The Slaters need a bell on that back door. Either that or lock the b****y thing,” with a fifth writing: “When will Stacey learn to lock her back door?” A sixth penned: “Johnny please don’t bust into the slaters unannounced again. THEY HAVE A FRONT DOOR. KNOCK IT,” as they reacted to the scenes on the BBC soap.
Whilst Theo pleaded guilty and is currently away from Walford, fans were left puzzled to see Stacey didn’t lock her back door. When the big scenes with Theo aired, actor William Ellis – who played the character – warned Stacey was in a lot of danger.
“I think we knew weeks ago when Theo broke into her house that she was in danger. That’s been the beauty of the storyline which has been bubbling very slowly. We have known the threat level from the off, we’ve known what he might be capable of from the off and this happens in real life. That’s what the show is about, holding a mirror up to everyday situations,” William told us, “It’s that classic case of love and rejection, you don’t know how much I love you until I prove it to you.”
There had been huge theories that Theo might die at Christmas, but it ended up being Keanu who was killed in the shock festive episode, which saw Linda Carter murder Keanu with a meat thermometer.
