Three huge ITV Emmerdale theories: đť••eath truth revealed as new serial đť•śiller lurks in the village
Meena Jutla's ghost hovers over the Dales.
RHONA Goskirk was crushed to realise Gus Malcolms had no intention of helping her connect with Ivy – but there could be another surprise.
Elsewhere in Emmerdale, fans are convinced two villagers have it in them to honour Meena Jutla’s sinister legacy.
1. Fake death twist
Ivy entered Rhona’s life like a spanner in the works after the vet played by ZoĂ« Henry was told by her ex-husband Gus Malcolms that her frozen embryos had been used without her consent.
Despite the violation, Rhona quickly grew attached to the motherless baby, putting her entire life almost on hold to be with her.
This eventually led to her kidnapping the tot before making plans to start afresh in Canada and her pal Vanessa Woodfield had to stop her before she bit the bullet.
Since then, Rhona turned Gus over to the authorities for fraud as he had taken over her identity to gain access to the frozen embryos.
Unfortunately for her, this didn’t stop her from being charged with kidnapping.
In more recent scenes of the ITV soap, Gus (Alan McKenna) made an agreement with Rhona, vowing he’d give her access to Ivy on the one condition she let him off the hook.
To top it all off, Gus urged Rhona to throw the blame on to his dead wife Lucy, who drew her last breath while giving birth to Ivy.
Sadly, Gus didn’t stick to his end of the deal and Rhona was left heartbroken that she couldn’t be with baby Ivy.
This week, Rhona’s mother Mary (Louise Jameson) shows her images of Ivy she found on Gus’ social media.
Rhona’s tearful as she continues to gaze at photos of Ivy.
Meanwhile, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) steamrolls Rhona into agreeing to a Dingle birthday party for her husband Marlon’s 50th.
What will she decide?
While this remains to be seen, fans of the Yorkshire-based program have speculated another twist ahead for Rhona and they’re growing increasingly convinced that Lucy is alive after all.
According to the fan theory, Lucy and Gus may have faked her death in a bid to stop Rhona taking legal action over them stealing her frozen embryos together.
“I don’t think his wife Lucy died”, one fan penned on social media.
Another added: “Maybe Lucy is in France and that’s why he’s going with Ivy.”
“She could have been in a coma and Gus just said she died so Rhona wouldn’t report them for stealing the embryos and her passport and forging her signature?”, a third echoed.
Could there be truth to the speculation?
2. Shock connection
Former Coronation Street actress Paula Lane made quite the impression viewers of the long-running show as she took on the role of Dales newcomer Ella Forster.
Ella was initially introduced during a formal even at The Hide and some fans of the Yorkshire-based program were immediately awestruck by her as she was willing to lose her job to stick up for fan favourite Mandy Dingle.
However, as time goes by, multiple soap watchers are becoming increasingly suspicious of Ella and of her motives for being in the eponymous village.
Over the decades, new additions to the show’s line-up have proven to be too good to be true and it’s highly unlikely that Ella is an exception.
This week, Ella grows closer to village GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
Sparks begin to fly as the pair bond over houseplants in scenes due on our screens.
Meanwhile, a wary Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) isn’t fully convinced by Ella as she spots the pair looking cosier than ever in the surgery.
Manpreet may have had some food for thought after a recent conversation led viewers to believe that Ella could be linked to serial killer Meena Jutla, Manpreet’s villainous younger sister.
Meena – played by Paige Sandhu – was responsible for several murders in the Dales and even held Manpreet hostage before trying to get rid of her.
She was thrown behind bars in early 2022, after being sentenced to a total of 75 years in prison for her actions.
During her time in the village, Ella has grown closer to Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), one of Meena’s victims, and a conversation about Belle and Tom King’s ill-fated wedding sparked concern among fellow Emmerdale residents.
During the exchange which recently took place in The Woolpack, Dawn and her husband Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) recalled how their own big day had been sabotaged by Meena.
Soon after, Ella was eager to question Manpreet about her sister but she was quickly shut down by none other than Liam himself as Meena murdered his 18-year-old daughter in July, 2021.
Could Ella’s niceties be hiding a dark secret?
3. New serial killer
Elsewhere in the eponymous village, Caleb Miligan paid for his affair with Tracy Robinson as three men in the Dingle family decided to teach him a lesson.
But in another development, Caleb’s wife Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) pushed him to radically turn his back on the Dingle clan.
In recent scenes, Ruby demanded that her beau sabotaged Tracy Robinson’s nursery project to prove his love and commitment to her – and he immediately obliged.
However, in doing so, Caleb was on the receiving end of the Dingle wrath once again as his half-sister Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) told him their mother Faith would be ashamed of him if she was still alive.
This later triggered a row between Caleb and Ruby, leaving fans to theorise that the newcomer could be Emmerdale’s next serial killer, thus taking over from dearly missed murderer Meena Jutla.
“Ruthless Ruby giving Mad Meena Vibes!”, one soap watcher penned online.
Another seemed to agree: “Ruby is so realistically wicked, sarcastic and ballsy.”
“People need to lighten up and not take Ruby so seriously, she is a soap b*tch and she makes things interesting. I hope she is here for a long time!”, a third viewer chimed in.
“Everybody in Emmerdale should watch out when Queen’s Kim and Ruby team up”, one fan concluded, referring to Ruby’s deal with Caleb’s arch nemesis, Kim Tate (Claire King).
But what sort of trick could she have up her sleeve?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
