EastEnders fans were feeling very pleased with themselves recently as they managed to spot a mistake made by Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy).
In the episode of the BBC One soap broadcasted on March 6, Sonia was at the Slater household looking after Charli, Lily Slater’s (Lillia Turner) daughter.
As Charli stopped crying, Sonia thought it was because she had heard what was on the television.
Sonia said to Charli that her daughter Bex ‘used to like watching Bargain Hunt’.
Woops!
The problem?
It was actually an old episode of Flog It that was playing.
Woops!
Sonia went on to say: ‘Course, it was David Dickinson back then, not this new bloke. But I think you’ve got very good taste. See? Ain’t so bad, is it? Do you know? The best ones are the ones you don’t expect. They all go for gold and silver. Ain’t worth much anymore. Teaspoons and old pots. But every now and again… someone makes a fortune out of an old coat rack.
‘Just teaches you, doesn’t it? Life doesn’t always go to plan. You’ve just got to hope it turns out right in the end.’
It was a moving monologue from Sonia but for some EastEnders fans, they couldn’t help mention it was a little bit pointless, considering she wasn’t watching Bargain Hunt at all.
‘Obsessed with Sonia showing baby Charli an episode of “Bargain Hunt” but actually watching Flog It’, one X user wrote after the scenes aired.
Another laughed and said: ‘That’s a very old episode of Flog It, Sonia, not Bargain Hunt. What year is this, 2003??’.
So fair!
Recently in the BBC One soap, Sonia reunited with her sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) during a visit to Milton Keynes.
When she arrived, it wasn’t long until Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) revealed her pregnancy.
Whitney was hesitant to tell Sonia, as her and partner Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) are currently struggling to conceive through IVF.
