Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle 𝕒ttacked again – but not by the usual suspects
Well, we didn’t expect that
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was left with a very bruised ego after being attacked in Friday’s (March 1) episode of Emmerdale.
Yesterday, Cain was summoned to the pub for a meeting with Chas (Lucy Pargeter), Aaron (Danny Miller) and Caleb (William Ash).
In the back room, Chas told her loved ones that her breast cancer developed as a result of a faulty BRCA1 gene. She confirmed that because the gene can be inherited, there’s every chance Cain, Caleb and Aaron will have it and if they do, it increases the possibility of them getting certain types of cancer.
The news understandably shocked the trio but in tonight’s episode, Cain wasn’t in the mood to address the issue.
Well, we didn’t expect that
As Moira (Natalie J Robb) researched the BRCA1 gene, Cain said he wants to focus on supporting Chas – who has cancer – rather than worry about a diagnosis he may not ever receive.
Meanwhile, Chas was busy organising a little party in the pub for Mandy’s (Lisa Riley) birthday. As the Dingles gathered, they were all thrown when Caleb arrived with outspoken Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
Ruby isn’t the sort of person to be impacted by dodgy stares from others. Despite the fact she doesn’t really like the Dingles, she held her own and got to ordering a drink at the bar (after testing them first).
However, as Ruby overheard chatter about the genetic test, she wondered what was going on.
It then became apparent Caleb hadn’t told Ruby his news. As an argument began, the Dingles watched, with Cain growing annoyed the couple had once again ruined a family event.
Cain approached Ruby and then ordered her to leave. He was never going to hit Ruby, so he had to focus on touching a nerve through words – but it didn’t work.
Ruby took control and when Cain refused to get out of her way, she kneed him in the groin and returned to the bar.
Oh dear.
Back at Mill Cottage, when Ruby returned from the bathroom, we saw a completely different side to her. She had mascara running down her face admitted to Caleb that she’s really scared about him dying.
Caleb was adamant he wouldn’t die and hugged Ruby, but how much will change if he takes the genetic test?
