Emmerdale spoilers: Marlon Dingle sickened by Rhona Goskirk’s controversial deal with Gus Malcolms

Marlon is left sickened by Rhona and Gus’ agreement

Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) has been left feeling torn after Gus Malcolms’ (Alan McKenna) game-changing deal in Emmerdale.

Following Rhona’s arrest for kidnap, she has faced weeks of stress over the prospect of going to prison. There’s been a lot of back and forth over whether or not to plead guilty but yesterday, Rhona reached a conclusion – she would go with her gut, plead not guilty and risk going to prison afterwards.

In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, as Rhona, Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Mary (Louise Jameson) headed to court, April (Amelia Flanagan) skipped school so she could visit Gus.

At his home, April pleaded with Gus, hoping she could help save Rhona from prison. She explained that if Rhona went behind bars, Ivy would be robbed of positive memories of her real mum.

Back in the village, Rhona had returned from court after pleading not guilty. She was slowly coming to terms with the fact she may go to prison after the trial, but still remained determined to argue her case and highlight the cruel injustice of her situation.

When Gus brought April home, it looked as though he hadn’t listened to the young girl at all.

He was angry at Rhona’s attempt at seeing little Ivy, who was in the car, and tried to say Rhona knew exactly what she was doing when she ‘kidnapped’ the baby.

After a scuffle with Marlon, Gus called Rhona and asked to meet him at The Hide.

It then became apparent April’s words had impacted Gus after all. He put forward a deal to Rhona and told her that he’s willing to sing her praises to the police if, in return, she claims that Lucy was responsible for the embryo theft – not him.

Back at home, Rhona ran the idea past Marlon, who hated it and said Gus probably wasn’t being truthful with her.

The offer would more than likely prevent Rhona and Gus from going to prison but on the other hand, it completely goes against Rhona’s moral compass – so what will she choose?

At the end of the episode, it looked as though Rhona had made up her mind already, but can anything – or anyone – sway her decision?

Will she lie to the police to stay out of prison and increase the chance of seeing Ivy?
