ITV Emmerdale spoilers for next week: Caleb’s downfall, Gus exposed and huge return
Emmerdale viewers can expect plenty of scheming, chaos and discoveries next week
Emmerdale viewers are in for a treat next week, with the ITV soap airing a return, plenty of scheming and a big discovery.
The drama continues in the village in upcoming episodes, as two characters continue to plan to take down a village baddie, resulting in two more characters getting caught in the crossfire. There’s also a big revenge plot against one character, amid some discoveries about the finances.
Elsewhere, a character makes their big return to the show, after more than a year away leading to a worrying police twist for their family. Also airing next week is the moment Rhona Goskirk makes a discovery about her ex Gus, amid the battle for baby Ivy. Here’s what is coming up on the show next week…
A character returns
Kerry Wyatt – played by Laura Norton – is back in the Yorkshire village next week as Laura returns to the soap after maternity leave. Fans will watch on as Kerry makes a surprise return to the village, only to be dropped off at the house by PC Swirling.
Her daughter Amy is surprised to see Kerry, but even more shocked to see her mum unmistakably dressed as Cher. Kerry is then left to explain how she has been falsely accused of stealing by her fiancé, but she promises her daughter that it isn’t the case and all she wants to do is focus on being a good mum to her daughter.
Caleb’s downfall
(
ITV)
Emmerdale’s Caleb Miligan may have nowhere left to turn next week on the ITV soap, with a possible exit on the cards. The character found himself a target after his affair with Tracy Metcalfe, the wife of his nephew Nate Robinson, came to light. He’s been declared ‘dead’ by most of the Dingles who refuse to see or speak to him.
After finally building bridges with siblings Cain Dingle and Chas Dingle, he’s been pushed out after he betrayed Cain’s son Nate. Nate is in turmoil over his marriage falling apart and his wife and uncle’s betrayal.
But the Dingles are keen to help Nate through it, even if it means taking revenge on Caleb in the process. They are not the only ones though, as Caleb’s wife Ruby is also desperate to make him pay.
It seems Caleb may be forced to leave as he could be left with nothing by the time all parties are done with him. Then again, could he end up being in danger as things go too far?
Gus exposed
Emmerdale’s Rhona Goskirk unearths Gus Malcolm’s shock lie next week, leaving her reeling. The character realises her ex has been lying to her in upcoming episodes, amid drama in scenes airing this week. In scenes this week Gus comes to a truce with Rhona, or so she believes, as they’re ongoing issues around baby Ivy lead to an attack.
But just as Rhona believes they have got somewhere, she uncovers his true plan leaving her rattled. Viewers will recall that last year, Rhona found out Gus and his partner Lucy were expecting a baby together despite them telling Rhona months earlier that they were having fertility issues and could not conceive a child.
Years earlier, Rhona and Gus had had IVF treatment which led to them freezing some embryos, but when they split up Rhona assumed they were destroyed. Gus stopped this from happening, before asking if he and Lucy could use them a year ago.
Rhona declined, but Gus forged her signature and Lucy fell pregnant with his and Rhona’s embryo. Tragically Lucy died while giving birth to baby Ivy leaving her partner distraught and grief-stricken, while Rhona was torn that a baby that was biologically hers no longer had a mother.
What started as Rhona and her family helping Gus out led to Rhona admitting she could not let go of Ivy, and wanted to be part of her life. A war forged between the parents as Gus planned to flee with the baby only for Rhona to take Ivy away from the village, with her arrested for kidnap.
As things come to a head, with Rhona facing court over her charges, she tells her loved ones she will not plead guilty – and the news soon reaches Gus who is furious. Him and Marlon end up having a row, with Gus thrown to the ground – only making things worse.
Rhona is left stunned when Gus offers a compromise and suggests they both change their statements and work towards a not guilty verdict. He seems to suggest Rhona can have access to Ivy and he will cancel the house sale, with it seeming as though Rhona agrees to this.
But next week things take another turn, when Rhona finds out Gus has lied as she uncovers his real plan for Ivy. She realises Gus is deceiving her about the move and the access plans, and promises to continue fighting until Ivy is under her care and not his – but will she succeed?
Ruby and Kim’s new target
Emmerdale residents may want to watch out, as scheming Ruby Fox-Miligan and Kim Tate are out to get multiple characters. Amid their plan to take down Ruby’s husband Caleb Miligan, it seems two other residents will be targeted by the duo in upcoming scenes.
Nate and Tracy who get caught in the crossfire once more next week, as their plan escalates. Jealous Ruby is furious to see Caleb talking with Tracy once more, and she takes action.
Wanting Caleb to prove his loyalty to her, she urges Caleb to ruin Tracy’s nursery presentation amid her big business hopes. But will Caleb go through with it, and will Tracy pay the price for her affair?
Nate meanwhile is targeted by Kim, who decides to mess with his head. Already struggling he’s wound up further when Kim deliberately pushes his buttons to get him to react.
With Nate and Tracy both targets of Ruby and Kim, will they realise what’s going on or will Ruby and Kim get the desired effect? Either way, Caleb isn’t going to get anyone on side anytime soon, but will he realise his wife is against him?
