Emmerdale horror as Charity Dingle sta𝕓s husband Mack – and watches him 𝕓leed out
Her mental breakdown had devastating consequences tonight
EMMERDALE has aired horror scenes as Charity Dingle stabbed husband Mackenzie Boyd and watched him bleed out.
The Woolpack landlady – who is played by actress Emma Atkins in the ITV soap – has been suffering with her mental health ever since she killed gangster Harry to save husband Mack’s life at Christmas.
In tonight’s episode it was clear Charity was still struggling as she behaved erratically in the pub.
Charity spiralled out of control and started to suffer from hallucinations of Harry terrorising her in her cottage.
After her strange behaviour in the pub, Charity went home and tried to shut the world out.
“Charity,” Mack said full of concern.
“It’s me,” he added as he tried to wake her from her nightmare.
But as she shot up from her nightmare shouting: “Leave me alone.” she lashed out at Mack – with a knife.
He stumbled back, heavily bleeding in shock.
“Charity I need you to call an ambulance,” he said desperately. “Charity, call an ambulance.”
But she just sat there catatonic as he collapsed to the floor, bleeding out.
Later she was still sat unable to function when Moira arrived.
Moira rushed over trying to stop the bleeding and summon help but all the time Charity just sat muttering that she was sorry, dropping the bloodied knife to the floor.
An ambulance quickly arrived and Mackenzie was rushed to hospital, barely alive and the police arrested Charity.
Leading her out of the house Charity could barely speak.
At the hospital Moira blamed herself, telling an comatose Mack: “I’m so sorry, I should have warned you.
“I had no idea Charity didn’t tell you what she was going through until today. But you’ll be OK.”
Meanwhile Charity sat alone and silent in her prison cell, still unable to talk until she snapped out of it and realised what she’d done.
She begged the police to tell her how Mack was before breaking down, hearing the gunshot that killed Harry in her head.
