Emmerdale spoilers: Nicola King gets even worse news after gut-wrenching Dua Lipa setback
After a gut-wrenching Dua Lipa setback, Nicola got more bad news
Ever since learning that Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) is facing a custodial sentence for her role in Heath Hope’s death, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) has been trying to create happy family memories in Emmerdale.
In recent scenes, she had some good news for daughter Angel, who has been worrying about what the future may hold.
Knowing that Angelica was a huge fan of Dua Lipa, but had been unable to get tickets to a nearby concert, Nicola delighted in telling her that a friend from work had come down with a bug, and had given her five tickets to the gig.
Angel was of course thrilled by this, though her brothers remained disinterested as they scrolled through their phones.
After a gut-wrenching Dua Lipa setback, Nicola got more bad news
Wanting the day to be a treasured memory for all the family, Nicola insisted that they leave their phones at home.
This was where things started to go wrong, as husband Jimmy King (Nick Miles) demanded that Nicola leave her phone at home too, and lead by example, as part of his New Rules (See what we did there?).
However, when they arrived at the venue, Nicola was struck with the horrifying realisation that the tickets were on her phone, which was… You guessed it, still at home.
Not one to let the small matter of forgetting the tickets stop her, Nicola decided to talk to the box office, to see if there was a way for her to log in to her emails and find the tickets, or call the friend who had initially bought them.
Unfortunately, the box office weren’t as accommodating as Nicola had hoped, and no amount of ‘Do you know who I am?’s were able to get them onside.
As the family stood defeated in the car park, Dua Lipa’s concert began, with the Kings able to hear every word.
Determined not to let the day be a total waste, Nicola began to sing and dance along, pointing out to everyone that this was Angel’s favourite song.
Soon enough, she had joined in, before everyone – including Jimmy – was singing and dancing along.
Unfortunately, their good moods weren’t to last, as Nicola arrived home to a voicemail revealing that a date had been set for Angel’s sentencing.
Nicola was devastated as she admitted to Jimmy that she had hoped to have more time with her.
Will she be able to cope when Angel is sentenced?
