EastEnders spoilers: Cindy Beale’s hatred for Eddie Knight explained in shocking mur𝕕er story
Eddie is not a very nice man
When Eddie and Gloria Knight (Christopher Fairbank and Elizabeth Counsell) first arrived in EastEnders, it was instantly evident that Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) wasn’t a fan of her former father-in-law.
Cindy’s hatred for Eddie was so strong that fans took to social media to point it out, even coming up with their own theories as to why she appeared to dislike him so much.
In tonight’s (February 14) episode, all was explained, as George Knight (Colin Salmon) revealed a shocking memory from his past that Cindy knew all about.
Following his discovery that Eddie was facing trial for a racially motivated murder, George sat down with his dad to find out the truth about what really happened, revealing that he recognised the victim.
Eddie is not a very nice man
George went on to explain how he remembered Eddie and his friends attacking the man in question, though Eddie didn’t believe him.
He insisted that George was confusing his memory with something he’d read, pointing out that everything had been fine between them the previous day.
George explained that he had tried to push the memory to the back of his mind, but that it had always been there, and he urged Eddie to talk to Cindy if he didn’t believe him.
He revealed that he had recounted the events of the attack to her over 20 years ago, which would explain her obvious hatred for him.
With Eddie still not convinced, George talked him through every moment of that night, starting with how he was training after losing a big fight.
He then revealed how Henry Kofi Asare – the man who’s body had been found after going missing nearly 40 years ago – had run into the room and tried to hide from Eddie and his gang of friends.
It was then that George listened as they beat him up, before fleeing in fear.
When Eddie finally showed his true colours and a confrontation ensued, Gloria came rushing downstairs and revealed the horrifying truth that she had asked Eddie to do whatever it took to stop Henry taking George, and George soon realised that the murder victim had been his biological father.
With Cindy currently out of the country trying to track down Cindy Jr, how will she react to this new development?
In upcoming scenes, George will leave her a voicemail telling her that he wishes she was here, and she wastes no time in coming back to see him.
Will she be able to help him in the aftermath of his huge discovery?
