Emmerdale’s Rhona Goskirk hits breaking point as she’s dealt devastating baby Ivy blow
MARLON has gone behind her back to make a deal. But will he? Or will he make a decision that sends Rhona spiralling out of control?
RHONA Goskirk is reaching breaking point over baby Ivy in Emmerdale.
The vet – who is played by actress Zoe Henry in the ITV soap – was forced to say goodbye to baby Ivy for a night when her dad Gus took her back for the night.
Viewers know Ivy was born when Gus and his late wife illegally stole frozen embryos that he and Rhona had fertilised when they were married.
Rhona discovered Gus’ secret and confronted him and wife Lucy, which pushed her into early labour – and she died.
Gus fell into depression and couldn’t cope with Ivy so Rhona and mum Mary stepped in – but it backfired and Rhona feels as if she is Ivy’s mother.
Now with Gus feeling stronger he took Ivy back for a night to see how they got on – but it devastated Rhona.
“We always knew it was going to happen,” she said as Marlon found her upset in the kitchen.
“It was just so fast. I’m not ready. I love her Marlon. I love her.”
Later Rhona tried to distract herself with housework but it wasn’t enough.
“I pulled myself together,” she insisted halfheartedly.
“Don’t worry I’m not storing it all up for a giant cataclysmic eruption later, I just decided that if I can’t control this situation in a meaningful way then I can stop it from upsetting me.”
But as she tried to put a brave face on, Rhona crumbled and Marlon was forced into action.
Summoning Gus to the pub he told him: “You don’t take on the care of a little life like Ivy’s and not care, it’s not easy.
“People co-parent. Grown-ups, they get together and talk like grown-ups and come to grown-up agreements.”
Backed into a corner, Gus told Marlon: “Yeah… It’s something we can think about.”
But will he? Or will he make a decision that sends Rhona spiralling out of control?
