Emmerdale spoilers: Jai Sharma and Laurel Thomas crash onto the rocks after a heated decision and feud

The couple aren’t seeing eye to eye. Could Jai’s anger with Amit also lead to the destruction of his relationship with his wife?

For some people work is a nice respite away from family problems, but for Emmerdale’s Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) this is not the case.

Currently, he would rather not have to face Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam) – the man he previously thought was his uncle but now knows is his biological father. This is because he’s highly suspicious that Amit might have killed Rishi (Bhasker Patel) – the man Jai thought was his dad but who turned out to be his uncle.

Amit admitted to being in Rishi’s house when he fell down the stairs to his death, but by his account, the fall was an accident. He only legged it afterwards because he didn’t think anyone would believe it was an accident.

Jai doesn’t quite believe this story. At the very least he hates the idea that Amit left Rishi alone at the bottom of the stairs after his death. He hates him, either way.

So it’s not ideal that whenever he goes to work at the Hide, Amit seems to need to pop in for a drink or a burger, to hang out with his son Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) – the man Jai thought was his cousin but is actually his brother – or just to lurk annoyingly.

Understandably, it’s the last straw for Jai when Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) tells him that Amit has bought into the business, meaning he now has every justification for lurking annoyingly whenever he likes.

Frankly, Jai has had enough and resigns on the spot. Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) is left wondering where this leaves her, as she also works at the Hide. And where will it leave the family finances now Jai has no money coming in?

Understandably, this leads to tensions in the Sharma marriage. Laurel finds the entire feud between Amit and Jai frustrating and wishes they could make peace for the sake of a smoother life going forward.

Jai, meanwhile, is angry that Laurel doesn’t seem as supportive of him as she could be.

Could Jai’s anger with Amit also lead to the destruction of his relationship with his wife?
