Emmerdale spoilers: Showdown for Tracy Metcalfe and Caleb Milligan’s wife Ruby as an event takes quite a turn
How will Ruby’s arrival impact the affair?
There was a surprise for Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) in last week’s Emmerdale when he became suspicious that his wife Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) was up to all sorts with Caleb Milligan (William Ash).
Barging into Caleb’s home he expected to find Tracy and Caleb in a compromising situation – but instead found Caleb with his ex-wife, Ruby (Beth Cordingly). And they were behaving in a way that suggested that Ruby is not quite as ‘ex’ as Caleb would have had us believe.
Since Caleb arrived in the village we’ve heard his wife mentioned fairly often, particularly back when Caleb was pursuing revenge against Kim Tate (Claire King).
One of the reasons he gave to Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) about what he was doing was that he wanted to use his money to secure Nicky’s mum’s future – which turned out not to be the case.
How will Ruby’s arrival impact the affair?
In upcoming episodes Ruby makes her presence felt in the village more generally.
‘She’s a firecracker and a troublemaker and I think people will love her or hate her,’ Beth Cordingly said when her casting was announced.
Nicky is delighted to have his mum in the village, and Caleb tries to pretend he isn’t enjoying having Ruby around but he secretly is.
Ruby’s keen to meet Caleb’s family and decides to host a family lunch. Not knowing that Caleb and Tracy have a ‘special’ relationship, she invites Nate and Tracy to lunch as well. Tracy’s understandably not keen, but Nate persuades her to attend.
Ruby is nervous about making a good impression, so she hits the wine fairly early. Despite her nerves, the event is a great success and everyone is enjoying her hospitality.
Then Ruby makes a remark that changes the whole mood of the event and things quickly descend into chaos.
Producer Kate Brooks told us that ‘[Ruby’s] relationship with Caleb is infused with an intense passion that manifests itself as the ultimate volatile relationship.’ Throw in Caleb’s secret lover Tracy for extra drama, and it’s an explosive situation.
Is Tracy going to live to regret agreeing to go to Ruby’s lunch?
