Emmerdale spoilers: Bob Hope goes ballistic as Jimmy’s lie over Heath’s 𝕕eath is revealed

Bob’s anger increases

Bob Hope’s (Tony Audenshaw) world was turned upside down at the start of the year when son Heath (Sebastian Dowling) died in a car crash in Emmerdale.

At first, Bob believed that Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) was driving when the crash happened, and was therefore partially to blame for Heath’s death.

However, after weeks of keeping it a secret, Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) confirmed she was actually driving – not Cathy.

Coming up, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) feels the huge impact of what’s going on when she returns home after resigning from her post at the council.

To make matters even worse, Ethan Anderson (Emile John) pops by the King home and tells Nicola there’s every possibility Angelica will face a custodial sentence.

The friendship between Bob and Jimmy King (Nick Miles) remains incredibly fractured later in the week, as Bob is left shaking with anger when Jimmy admits that he told Angelica to lie about her involvement in the crash.

With the hearing drawing ever closer, Nicola urges Jimmy not to tell Angelica about her potential custodial sentence. After debating whether to make Angelica lie and say she isn’t guilty, Jimmy and Nicola eventually accept they can help their daughter by encouraging her to be truthful instead.

As they head to the hearing, they bump into Bob and Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop), who are delighted they’ve heard the charges against Cathy have now been dropped.

But what will the outcome of Angelica’s court case be?

‘It’s basically fighting back’, Nicola Wheeler said, discussing how the upcoming scenes impact Jimmy and Nicola’s relationships with Bob.

‘It’s a terrible situation and it is a tragic situation. I know technically someone is to blame, but really none of them are to blame. They’re all to blame and none of them are to blame, it’s just one of those things that happens and you deal with the consequences.

‘They wish they could get Bob on-side because obviously Bob giving Angel a good character reference would really help her case. But unfortunately, Bob hates them so much it’s very unlikely he’s going to give one.’
