Whitney Dean’s exit storyline revealed as EastEnders legend makes shock return
Viewers are expecting a dark twist for the character before her exit.
ZACK Hudson is on a cloud after learning that Whitney Dean was pregnant with his baby.
However, the EastEnders hunk gets a shock when she decides to leave Albert Square to help an unexpected returning legend.
Actress Shona McGarty is waving goodbye to BBC One viewers after fifteen years of portraying fan favourite Whitney Dean.
Soap fans have been eagerly waiting to know more about her exit storyline and, due to her past with tragedy, they are expecting to be heartbroken by the end of her stint.
But her departure involves a happy reunion with one of her long-lost relatives.
Coming up, Whitney tells her partner Zack Hudson (portrayed by James Farrar) that she needs to leave Walford and go to Milton Keynes.
She reveals she’d be heading out of the Square for a while to support and console Bianca, who separated from her own partner Terry.
Bianca Jackson is Whitney Dean’s adoptive mother and was last seen in Walford in 2019.
She has been living in Milton Keynes with Terry Spraggan, with whom she has been involved since 2014.
But what led to their breakup and how will Whitney be able to support her?
While this remains to be seen, Zack later comes up with the idea of getting Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) to run Whit’s stall on the Walford market.
Could Penny bring more trouble to the couple?
Whitney was given a surprise in the new year as she learned that she was expecting another baby, months after the death of her daughter Peach.
As viewers may recall, Whitney had to undergo a termination in 2023 after finding out that Peach was suffering from Edwards’ Syndrome.
The hard-hitting scenes left viewers in tears and Whitney made the decision there and then to never get pregnant again, which prompted her and Zack to turn to fostering.
Whitney and Zack welcomed a young boy named Ashton in recent weeks but their time as foster parents was short-lived as a permanent home was quickly found for the lad.
Shortly after Ashton’s departure, Whitney found out she was pregnant again.
After initially choosing to have an abortion out of fear of history repeating itself, Whitney backtracked and announced that she’d be keeping the baby, to Zack’s delight.
But with her departure looming on the horizon, could the couple be set for more heartache?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
