Emmerdale spoilers: Prison exit for Angel ‘confirmed’ as she confesses the truth about Heath’s 𝕕eath
What will happen to her next?
Ever since the fateful car crash on New Year’s Eve in Emmerdale, Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) has insisted she wasn’t driving the car at the time the car crashed and killed her twin brother Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) – it was Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes).
Cathy stole Wendy (Susan Cookson)’s car so she, Heath and Angel could go to Hotten to a party. Viewers saw Cathy behind the wheel, but with the other two complaining about how slowly she was driving and Heath telling her that one of them should be driving instead.
By the time Wendy and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) arrived on the scene the car had crashed and Heath was dead. But with Cathy and Angel already out of the car, it wasn’t clear who’d been driving when the accident happened.
What will happen to her next?
Under police questioning Angel denied Cathy’s claim that she was the driver, but after Heath’s funeral she crumbled under the pressure of her guilt and and told Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) that what Cathy had said was true – it was Angel behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile Bob has obviously been struggling with his grief over losing his son, but this has been made worse by his belief that Cathy was responsible.
Upcoming episodes see the King family uniting around Angel in a determination to keep her out of trouble with the police, but Nicola feels uneasy about it when she sees how much Bob is suffering.
The pressure of living with this huge lie and knowing how much pain it’s inflicting on Cathy, Bob and Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) becomes too much for Angel to bear, and she runs over to the B&B.
She finds Liam (Jonny McPherson), Brenda, Cathy and April (Amelia Flanagan) there and breaks down and confesses what happened.
Then, at the police station, she makes an official confession and is formally arrested for causing death by dangerous driving.
Angel’s terrified at the prospect of what could happen next. Is she heading for prison?
