Emmerdale custody battle as Rhona Goskirk fights for baby Ivy after Marlon betrayal
Will Rhona and the others battle it out to be Ivy’s carers? And how would Marlon respond to the betrayal of his wife?
Fans of Emmerdale are aware that Rhona Goskirk is at the heart of a convoluted plot in the popular ITV soap opera.
A complex custody dispute between Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna) may soon surface on Emmerdale. Fans of the ITV soap opera will remember when Gus appeared last year and asked Rhona, his ex, for assistance.
He clarified that while he had desired children with Lucy, his present girlfriend, they had not been able to conceive. He continued by telling Rhona that he wanted her consent to utilise the embryos they had frozen throughout their relationship.
Stunned and perplexed, Rhona thought everything had been lost when they split up. In the end, she chose not to give the pair her consent.
But because Gus had already utilised the embryos, it turned out that Lucy was pregnant just before Christmas. Tragically, Lucy had an early labour and passed away shortly after giving birth.
Gus was left a bereaved father to little Ivy. When Gus wasn’t adjusting well, Rhona’s mother Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) started to reach out to him.
Gus and Ivy were finally talked into staying with Rhona and her husband Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), and they did so for Christmas.
But he vanished before the New Year, unable to handle being a single dad.
When Gus phoned last week to say he was feeling better, Rhona told him not to go back to pick up Ivy too soon.
Gus appears in later moments and starts a whole new batch of turmoil.
Rhona is touched to watch Marlon become closer to Ivy in later moments.
Mary tells Rhona to get ready for Ivy’s departure after she admits to talking to Gus and defends her behaviour.
About getting custody, Rhona talks to attorney Ethan Anderson (Emile John).
While Mary and Marlon take care of Ivy at home, mayhem breaks out, and they are taken aback when Gus shows up out of the blue.
When Gus admits they’ve been communicating, Rhona helps her recognise she needs to provide some explanations.
