BBC EastEnders’ Jay Brown left surprised over emotional Lola Pearce ‘return’
BBC EastEnders viewers will be moved to tears next week when the late Lola Pearce, played by Danielle Harold, makes an emotional 'return' to support Jay Brown
EastEnders fans will be left in tears next week when the late Lola Pearce, played by Danielle Harold, makes an emotional ‘return’.
Soap watchers will recall that Lola tragically passed away in June, with the episodes airing in May, after her devastating brain cancer battle. Jay Brown has struggled with the death of his wife, even turning to drugs to help him numb the pain.
In upcoming episodes, the market traders are full of Christmas cheer. However, Billy Mitchell isn’t in the mood to celebrate without granddaughter Lola.
Meanwhile, as the festivities continue, Jay is also struggling without his wife and Honey Mitchell decides to surprise Jay with a recorded message from Lola. After some words of encouragement, he is surprised by what he hears… what has Lola said?
While Danielle, 31, will be back on EastEnders once more as loveable Lola for a brief return, the actress is currently on the 2023 series of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
It comes as Jay star Jamie Borthwick has teased the upcoming BBC One soap Christmas whodunnit death storyline. Earlier this year, the hit soap released a first look at the festive episode in a flashforward scene in a show first where Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) were faced with a dead body.
It remains to be seen who the dead body is and who is responsible. However, Jamie teased the upcoming Christmas death storyline in October. Speaking to the Mirror at the Pride of Britain Awards, Jamie was quizzed on what he knows about the Christmas plot. He said: “Well, I know who it is.”
When asked if he knows who the victim or killer is Jamie added: “Both”. And, when asked about his thoughts on the explosive festive storyline, he teased: “I can’t say because I’ll give it away!”
Just weeks ago, Jamie’s character Jay was involved in a harrowing accident after taking drugs and trying to flee to Margate as his life hung in the balance. However, thankfully, Jay made a recovery and survived the accident.
